Job requirements
The Opportunity
Olsam are looking for a Product Development Manager to play a pivotal role in driving product development initiatives within our four core categories: Sports & Outdoors, Home & Travel, and Health & Personal Care, and Pets. Reporting to the Head of Product Development, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to the end-to-end product development and design process, from concept to launch. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure products meet quality standards, align with business objectives, and drive innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development:
Work with the Head of Product Development to implement the product roadmap and manage the development process from concept to launch.
Manage daily NPD tasks to ensure project timelines remain on track vs our critical path/key launch planner
Coordinate with Olsam’s manufacturing partners, ensuring specifications and quality expectations are achieved
Innovation: Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the product development team.
Contribute creative ideas and insights to drive innovation across Olsam’s product portfolio, identifying opportunities for product enhancements to drive improved competitiveness, customer satisfaction, and/or profitability.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Support in maintaining rigorous quality control standards and processes to deliver high-quality products that meet customer expectations and comply with current regulations
Request and compile relevant testing and compliance documentation from factories to maintain an up-to-date certification library
Lifecycle Management: Assist in managing product lifecycles, including new development opportunities, launches, and retirements.
Support quality control processes and maintain compliance documentation.
Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for growth.
Team Support: Promote creativity, collaboration, and strong relationships across teams and with external partners
Budget Management: Help manage product development budgets with the Finance and Supply Chain teams to ensure profitability.
About You
5+ years in e-commerce or consumer goods, with expertise in managing end-to-end product research and development.
Proven ability to create and execute product development strategies aligned with business goals and market trends.
Strong understanding of key business drivers and how they impact overall commercial success.
Effective team player, skilled in working cross-functionally with Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Creative, and Brand Management teams.
Experienced in setting and managing product development budgets for cost-effective launches.
A genuine enthusiasm for consumer products and a commitment to delivering high-quality products that meet customer needs.
